Dear Theater Parents,
Welcome to the Anderson High School Theater’s 2009/10 season. I am
excited to be serving as president this year and I am very excited to have your students participating. Mr. Eric Porter returns after a very successful first year at Anderson. He
has been joined this year by Ms. Wendy Pratt. The addition of another full time
theater teacher has allowed the theater department to expand and provide more productions.
You should see what’s coming!
Your students choose well when they signed up for theater. Theater provides
a wonderful opportunity for students to interact with each other and bond. It
builds self confidence and allows them to express themselves in very unique ways. Theater
teaches students self-discipline, commitment and teamwork. In other words, they
are becoming interesting, out going, capable people.
The Booster Club was formed to provide support to the students in their goals of learning and performing in many wonderful
productions. We provide concessions for each performance, feed the students when
they have late rehearsals, work the box office collecting ticket sales, decorate the lobby, design and produce the programs,
sew and alter costumes, and assist where ever we are needed. And the best
part is we have a great time doing it.
Participating in the booster club allows you to be active in your child’s life without being in their way to grow
and make friends. It allows you to meet other parents with like minded kids and
make new friends of your own. It gets you into the performances for free.
I invite you to join Anderson’s Theater Booster
Club and participate as much or as little as you desire. We have monthly meetings,
generally the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in the Theater Portable. Our first meeting will be September 3rd.
Please come and meet Mr. Porter and Ms. Pratt and all of the other theater parents.
See you there,
Barbara Coldiron
President
Anderson Theater Booster Club
