February 5, 2010 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Theater Booster Club President, Barbara Coldiron at 7:00
in the Theater portable.
Treasurer’s Report - As of 2/5/10, there is a cash balance in the Booster Club
Funds of 5,856.90. There is an outstanding loan of $2000 to the Activity fund. We
still have a number of bears, totes, t-shirts. Income for the period was $1,603.40:

Evaluation DVD’s for Footloose – copies will be available for cost of $5-$10 donation. Contact is Pierrette Tyson.
Footloose Wrap up – Compliments were given on the acting, choreography, Boy Scenes,
Tech Crew, the program. All around, the production was well received.
UIL One Act – The play, Ruby’s Story was chosen. Wendy gave a brief description of the play, set in Bluefield, WV during the World War II era. The show has been cast and the list will be on the website shortly.
The zone competition will be March 24 and the district competition will be April 1, both to be held at Westlake HS. Two will advance from each level on to the next level.
We will have a school performance after the Zone competition. There will
also be an understudy performance. Eric is planning to have the show evaluated
prior to competition at a local workshop.
Valentine Bears – we have a total of 54 bears left. Paula designed heart tags to be attached to the bears. Students
purchasing the bears will write notes on the hearts. Our theater students will
sell the bear for Valentines day (sales are Feb 8, and Feb 9)to be delivered to students on February 11. They will sell for $5-$7 depending on size. Wendy will coordinate
students to sell and deliver bears. Parent help is needed for 2nd
lunch as Wendy and Eric have classes. Nancy McCourt and Cheryl Danks agreed to
help.
Elections – New officer elections will take place in March. Nominations are open at this time for the four officer positions:
President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. If interested in nominating
someone or submitting your name should contact Barbara Coldiron.
Summer Camp – the theater will still be under construction during the summer
and will likely not be available for summer camp. Other venues, such as middle schools or elementary schools are being looked
into at this time. No date has been set.
One Act Plays – there will be three student directed one-act plays chosen. Theater I and II students will be cast in the plays, which will be directed by Theater
III and IV students. These will be performed in late-May.
