End of Year Banquet – The banquet will be held at Dave & Busters June 3 from 6-10pm. The buffet sit-down dinner will consist of Chicken Monte Carlo, Roasted Potatoes, Caesar Salad, Rolls,
and cheese pizza/pesto appetizers. Tea and sodas are included.
The theme of the evening will be 1920’s Speakeasy.
Cheryl Danks, Paula Ervin, and Lynne Chapman are heading up the décor. Some
of the theater boys will help with the set up; names to be determined closer to the date.
Pierrette Tyson and Nancy L’Amie will donate cakes for the evening. In lieu of live music, piped in music will provide the appropriate 1920’s mood.
There was some confusion as to the preparation of the slide show. Pierrette Tyson and Cheryl Danks offered to put it together. This
is typically done by the LTC Historians [post meeting addendum – Kelly Pajares, an historian has been working on the
slide show and will complete it].
Nancy McCourt graciously agreed to prepare the invitations which will go to Theater II,
III, IV students along with cast member of the current year plays. It was determined
that hard copy invitations will be given to the students along with email notification to the parents.
Based on cost analysis provided by Nancy McCourt, the price was set at $24 and $12 for adults
and students, respectively. The 11 seniors and two directors will be guests of the booster club. Barbara made the motion and Pierrette seconded with no opposition.
Last year, Kelsey Moringy and Cheryl Danks were photographers for the evening. Cheryl has agreed to reprise her role as photography and Kelsey may join her again.
One Act Plays – The three student directed on-act plays and two monologues will be performed Thursday and Friday, May 20-21
from 7:00-10:00. Admission will be $6 for adults and $3 for students. Many teachers are offering extra credit for seeing the performances.
Adults will provide the following:
Water for cast/crew/concessions – Theresa Pajares
Candy Concessions – Cheryl Danks
Hand stamp/ink for admission – Theresa Pajares
Wednesday there will be a walk through of all the performances. Director’s gifts were discussed and it was determined that each cast should take care of their
director and that each director should provide a small token for each cast member. Mr.
Porter will inform students.
DVD’s - DVD’s for Our Town, Look Homeward Angel, and Ruby’s story will be available via Pierrette Tyson. Orders were taken during the meeting.
Project Graduation – A flat amount of $100 gift will be given to Project Graduation from the Theater Booster
Club. Our future policy on this gift will be determined at a later meeting.
Parent Dinner – The Booster club parent dinner has been planned for Sunday, May 23 @ Chez Zee from 5-7pm, Dutch treat. This
will be a time to turn the reins of the booster club over to the new president and a time to welcome new officers. RSVP’s should be given to Theresa Pajares (trixlarue63@yahoo.com).
Summer Camp – Flyers were made and will be going up at area elementary schools to promote the Theater Summer camp which
will be help at MURCHISON MIDDLE SCHOOL June 14-18. Morning session will be 9
am-noon, costing $75. The full day session will be 9 am – 4 pm, which will
cost $150. There are extended hours of 8:30-9:00am or 4:00-4:30 for $25 extra
for the week.
Parents are needed to help sign students in and out, to provide concessions, make name tags,
prepare spreadsheet of kids. There will be a separate meeting to coordinate the
details of the parent volunteers.
HS Student counselors will be able to leave campus for lunch this year, negating the need
to provide lunches for them.
The Theater Department is asking us to save our newspapers for the summer camp.
Water bottle Kuzees are being considered this year.
Nancy L’Amie is researching cost.
Priorities Committee meeting – This committee was set up to help prioritize expenses that Booster Club will support. The group met and made a list of priorities, which is currently maintained by Pierrette
Tyson.
Budget Committee - This committee will meet over the summer and will present next year’s
budget at the first Booster meeting of fiscal year 2010-2011. The Priorities
Committee list will be used to assist in the budgeting process.
Spirit Fest – This year the festival will be held August 28 from 5-8:30pm and THERE WILL BE NO RAIN. It was decided to keep the Pringle Toss and Photo Booths this year. Cindy Moringy and Cheryl Danks are the chairs and it was decided to give the committee authority over decisions
surrounding Spirit Fest.
Director’s report – Mr. Porter gave a brief insight into next year’s program. Tentatively, he has decided to take away a big musical production.
Instead, there will be a smaller musical production in October.
There may be a barbershop quartet fundraiser to raise money to produce the musical. In January, there will be a talent show consisting of song, dance and music. The top contestants from each will perform in a final round competition.
In the spring, a comedy play is being considered.
Mr. Porter will teach Advanced Theater and Theater I.
Ms. Pratt will teach Theater I, II and production.
The next meeting will be held September 3 at 7:00.
Minutes respectfully submitted by Theresa Pajares, Secretary on May 17, 2010.
